John Aiello, Chairman of the Board, The SAVO Group

John co-founded The SAVO Group in 1999 and served as the company’s Chief Executive Officer from 1999 to October 2010. His passion for improving sales/marketing effectiveness helped pioneer and evangelize the Sales Enablement category. Prior to founding SAVO, John served as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Sundance Homes, and as Brand Manager for the Miller Brewing company.

John received his BA from the University of Illinois. He also holds an MBA from Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management, where he is currently serving as an adjunct professor focused on entrepreneurship. In 2009, he and SAVO co-founder Drew Larsen were inducted into the Chicago Entrepreneur Hall of Fame. He has previously served on the Boards of the Adler Planetarium, the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce and the Chicagoland Entrepreneurial Center. He currently serves on the Boards of several software companies as well as several non-profit organizations. He and his wife Carla live in the suburbs of Chicago with their two sons.

Doug Higgins, Managing Director, Sapphire Ventures

At Sapphire Ventures, Doug manages the firm’s investments in LinkedIn, Endeca (acquired by Oracle), Black Duck Software, Imprivata, iYogi, Return Path, SAVO, Spring Mobile Solutions and Convercent. Prior to Sapphire Ventures, Doug ran worldwide business development and strategic partnerships at CollabNet. He also launched the business development group for Lucasfilm, where he created strategic partnerships for Star Wars prequels. Doug started his career in investment banking, with a focus on technology, at Robertson Stephens. More recently, he managed the Intel 64 Fund at Intel Capital. Doug graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Duke University and a Master of Business Administration from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

Jason Liu, Chief Executive Officer, SAVO

Jason’s extensive technology background includes decades of executive experience within software, mobile and cloud systems management industries. With strong experience in general, strategic and operational management, he has a proven track record of leading companies through substantial revenue and valuation growth. Prior to joining SAVO, Jason was an operating affiliate with Vector Capital and interim CEO of Allegro. During his tenure, Jason was responsible for leading the company through significant growth and profitability.

Immediately prior, Jason was the CEO of Automic Software (formerly named UC4 Software), a global leader in IT process automation. He successfully led the company through significant accelerated growth and eventual sale to EQT Funds. Other senior executive experience includes CEO of Univa and Intrinsic Technologies, and serving as chief financial officer for Ravisent Technologies, where he led the seed-stage company’s dramatic growth and its distinction as the “9th Fastest Growing Company in the United States from 1994 to 1998 (Deloitte & Touche/Forbes).

Jason holds an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Washington University.

Holger Staude, Investor, Goldman Sachs Private Capital Investing

Holger Staude works in the Private Capital Investing team, part of Goldman, Sachs & Co.’s Americas Special Situations Group. In that capacity, Holger invests in private, middle market companies throughout North America in the technology and healthcare sectors. Prior to joining Goldman Sachs, Holger worked at Allen & Company. Investments include: AFS Technologies, Clarizen, Renal Ventures Management, Resolute Anesthesia and Pain Solutions, and SugarCRM. Holger holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Princeton University.
